There are changes in the management of Freilacke: After 36 years at the company and 23 years on the management board, Hans-Peter Frei is retiring on December 31, 2025. Until then, he will remain part of the four-person management team. From 2026, Dr. Rainer Frei will be responsible for the business as sole Managing Director. Stefan Kienzler, who has been responsible for the production areas since 2018, has been appointed to the Executive Board as Head of Technology and has been granted power of attorney. Together with Roland Bäurer, he will support the management team from 2026.
Ground-breaking ceremony for new Product Technology Center
At the same time, Freilacke has started the construction of a new Product Technology Center. The ground-breaking ceremony took place on October 1, 2025, and the three-storey building with around 550 m² of floor space per floor is scheduled for completion in early 2027. In future, it will house laboratories, a modern technical center and a central training center. According to the company, this will expand development capacities, consolidate technical center space and meet the increasing demand for customer training.
Sustainable and barrier-free
The building will be barrier-free and architecturally based on the existing administration building. Sustainability plays a central role: energy-efficient building technology with heat pumps, networking with existing buildings and ecological standards should keep energy consumption low despite the additional space.
Important for the location
With the PTC, Freilacke is strengthening its innovative power and the Döggingen site. The move is scheduled for the beginning of 2027.
