The eighth European Skills Championships EuroSkills 2023 gathered 600 skilled workers from 32 nations in 43 disciplines. Freya Spitzer, 23, from Hamburg, competed for the German national painting team. Intensively prepared for the competition by national coach Matthias List and Caparol, she was able to convince in wallpapering despite adverse conditions and achieved an excellent fourth place in the speed competition.
On the second day of the competition, a logo and a wall were to be creatively designed. Both of Freya Spitzer's artworks, which incorporated the city name of Gdansk, Gdańsk in Polish, elicited enthusiasm from the spectators and the jury. Although she was ultimately unable to achieve first place, she secured a medal of excellence and seventh place with a total of 711 points. Caparol, as sponsor of the national team, and the entire team are delighted with Freya's outstanding performance.
