Innovative start-up projects from the life sciences and process industries can be submitted for the ACHEMA Start-up Award 2027. The competition is also open to providers of process-related technologies and materials.

The organizers of the ACHEMA Start-up Award 2027 are calling for submissions of business concepts. The competition is aimed at start-ups and founders from science and industry who are developing new solutions for the life sciences and process industries. Technological approaches related to chemical processes, materials, and process-related technologies will also be considered.

The ACHEMA Start-up Award will be presented for the fifth time in 2027. Up to ten finalists will be selected from the concepts submitted and will have the opportunity to present their projects to an international audience of experts at ACHEMA 2027 in Frankfurt am Main. The award ceremony is integrated into the trade fair program.

Technologies related to processes and materials in demand

Among other things, the competition addresses start-up projects in the fields of process engineering, biotechnology, digitalization of industrial processes, and sustainability and recycling concepts. The call for entries is therefore also aimed at developments that are relevant to related fields such as materials and surface technology.

The submitted concepts will be evaluated in several stages. In addition to participating in the competition, the teams will receive expert feedback and access to a network of industry partners and investors.

Applications can be submitted until the end of the year

Business concepts can be submitted until August 31, 2026. Business plans will be considered until November 30, 2026, at the latest. The competition is organized by DECHEMA, Business Angels FrankfurtRheinMain, and High-Tech Gründerfonds. ACHEMA 2027 will take place from June 14 to 18, 2027, in Frankfurt am Main.
