Denios is expanding its safety portfolio with the AmbiGuard monitoring device. The solution is designed for the continuous monitoring of environmental conditions in industrial settings, warehouses, and laboratories, and is intended to detect critical changes early on. It monitors, among other things, temperature, air pressure, motion, and location. A gyroscope detects changes in orientation and acceleration, while a GPS sensor is used for location tracking.
The measurement data is transmitted in real time via cellular networks to the Denios-connect IoT platform. If defined thresholds are exceeded or unusual events are detected, the system automatically sends notifications via text message or email. This allows managers to respond to deviations from anywhere and monitor conditions centrally.
Sensors and Platform
AmbiGuard is designed as a multifunctional monitoring device and combines sensor technology, mobile data transmission, and a web application for monitoring, data analysis, and device management. It is used as part of a service package that includes data transmission, platform access, updates, and support. This ensures the system is designed for continuous operation with networked analysis.
Denios relies on a modular architecture for integration into existing security concepts. In addition to the integrated sensors, the device can be expanded with up to two additional sensor modules, for example, for further temperature measurements or air quality monitoring. Programmable outputs also enable direct control of alarms or control systems.
Applications in Industry, Warehouses, and Laboratories
With the new system, Denios addresses applications in which gradual changes may initially go unnoticed—such as temperature increases, changes in position, gas leaks, or deviations from a specified location. The goal is to detect such events earlier, before they result in damage or safety risks. “Hazards often arise silently,” states the system’s introduction. AmbiGuard addresses this very issue by detecting risks early, providing transparency into conditions, and warning of critical developments.
For operators, the combination of local sensors, mobile data transmission, and centralized analysis can be particularly relevant in situations where distributed facilities, storage areas, or sensitive work environments need to be monitored. Denios is thus positioning AmbiGuard as a networked solution for greater transparency regarding environmental conditions and for integration into digital safety ecosystems.
