The Silberline Group, acquired by Altana, develops and produces effect pigments that are used in a wide range of applications, including automotive coatings, printing inks, plastics and protective coatings. Silberline is based in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1945, the company employs over 450 people worldwide and generated sales of around 80 million US dollars in 2022.

Through the acquisition, Altana is strategically expanding its Eckart division and strengthening its regional presence - particularly in North America and Asia.
