Every year, participants from Austria and Germany meet at the annual powder coating forum to find out about current and new developments as well as practical examples from the powder coating industry.
There was a great need for discussion around the presentations by J. Wagner, Chemische Werke Kluthe, Softec & Jürgen Emptmeyer.
Current topics such as the PFAS regulation, the optimization of energy efficiency in powder coating systems or digitalization in powder coating were discussed lively by the expert audience. Dr. Thomas Herrmann, founder and Managing Director of the Center for Corrosion Protection and Powder Coating in Dresden, hosted the program. In his presentation, Dr. Ralph Wilken, Head of Surface Technology at Fraunhofer IFAM, took a close look at the effects of the new PFAS regulation, where there are still major uncertainties.
J. Wagner presented the new Flowsense technology for the efficiency of many powder coating systems, as Josip Marijanovic explained in his presentation. Flowsense measures and regulates the powder output fully automatically during the powder coating process and thus delivers a constant coating thickness. Clemens Kittinger, Medical University of Graz, presented informative insights into the world of bacteriology and microbiology as well as standards and test methods on the topic of "Testing antibacterial coatings - or how horrible can surfaces be?".
A very practical highlight on the program was a visit to the lamp manufacturer Molto Luce, where the participants were able to see the company's own modern powder coating plant. Many thanks for this to Mr. Erwin Radhuber & Martin Lindenmair!
