Protection and styling for working horses

Abstract

Whether the excavator is digging a fresh excavation pit or the tractor is ploughing a field - their field of application demands a lot from paints for agricultural and construction machinery. Added to this are the generally stricter environmental requirements. And last but not least, customers' visual demands on the coating are increasing.

Good protection against mechanical, chemical and weather-related stresses is essential for agricultural and construction machinery. For this bundle of requirements, paint manufacturers have developed so-called UHS paints, the abbreviation stands for ultra-high-solids. Not too many changes are necessary for the coating of these paints. In addition to solvent emissions, users also focus on energy consumption and the amount of labour required for coating.

There are single-coat paint systems with integrated corrosion protection that are so mechanically and chemically resistant that one coat provides complete and lasting protection. VOC-reduced high-solid paints can be used where customers are unable to use single-coat systems. Recently, there has been an increasing demand for metallic colours. This is because design aspects are increasingly desirable in the agricultural machinery industry.
