Oltrogge: Reaching the goal with nitrogen

Abstract

The use of nitrogen as an atomising gas in wet painting ensures particularly fine and efficient atomisation of the material, as is required in automotive painting, for example.

In automotive painting, a particularly fine and efficient atomisation of the paint is required. This can be achieved through the physical properties of nitrogen. The effect of using nitrogen as an atomising gas compared to conventional painting with compressed air is clearly visible. Practical tests also show that using nitrogen as an atomising gas can save up to 20 percent in material. Another qualitative advantage is the constant atomising gas quality.

The nitrogen atomiser gas thus helps to avoid common coating defects such as orange peel or runner formation. Larger investments are no longer necessary: The technology can be retrofitted to existing systems at any time. Interested parties can test painting with nitrogen simply and easily with the supplier before making a purchase.
