With its own surface centre from dependency to expansion
Abstract
When a lorry needs to be able to do a little more, the Austrian company Dunst Kfz und Hydraulik comes into its own: the specialist for lorry superstructures equips the vehicles with additional units. To this end, the company has now built a new surface centre together with SLF Oberflächentechnik.

It is important for the customers of Dunst Kfz und Hydraulik GmbH that the supplied lorry bodies, such as the hydraulics, loading cranes, cable devices or container changing systems, have a high level of corrosion protection. Equally important, however, is the visual enhancement of the lorry bodies. After all, companies and their fleets should have a recognition value, which is then realised with a special coating. Dunst has built a new, approximately 500 square metre surface centre for this purpose.
One part of the surface centre is equipped with a blast room measuring 16.4 × 6.2 × 6.0 metres. An arc spraying system with an amperage of 300 amps was integrated into the blast room for the galvanising of the components. A combined spraying and drying booth, measuring 16.4 × 6.2 × 5.0 metres, adjoins the blastroom. During the planning phase, the project partners emphasised the energy efficiency of the system. For Dunst Kfz und Hydraulik, the new surface centre enables more flexible and independent work. The company can also offer a new service.
