Offering coating in the high-speed process - that was the idea behind the expansion at the Holzapfel Group's Sinn site. In order to be able to offer the technology as the first contract coater in Germany, the company has expanded there and developed its own production area for the process. Two major customer projects are currently being implemented here: In both cases, components for the automotive industry are being coated in high volumes and with complex requirements in series production.
In addition to the new production space for the coating technology, however, the company also invested in complementary technologies, including cleaning equipment, a clean room and laboratories with new analysis equipment. With the new process technology, the components are not coated on the rack or in the barrel, but individually. Coating takes place in relatively small, closed cells, so that higher current densities can be realized than in conventional coating. This results in significantly shorter coating times. The technology, which is tailored to the component, ensures compliance with the article-specific coating parameters and a reliably reproducible, very high coating quality. The Holzapfel Group started out with differently designed systems for high-speed coating.
