MTM: Increasing efficiency for large tasks
Abstract
As part of a major order from a ship engine manufacturer, a specialist in the development and manufacture of high-end cleaning systems was given the task of automating up to nine manual deburring stations in the future in order to minimize throughput times and space requirements in the hall.

At a large engine manufacturer, process steps such as brush deburring with dry brushing of oil channel bores, sealing surfaces and bearing aisles were previously carried out manually. The workpieces were then transported manually to a central cleaning system and then prepared for the further assembly process in a separate preservation and cleaning system. Process reliability here depends not only on the subjective deburring quality, but also on the handling of the components, which weigh up to 2.5 tons. MTM Meißner Technik Müllenbach GmbH solved this task with a fully automated multi-station flood chamber cleaning system.
