The launch marks the beginning of the conversion of the RAL product range to water-based solutions. The fan was developed in close cooperation with the companies Schupp Musterkarten and Haering.

"With RAL K7, we are introducing the first high-gloss water-based color fan. By switching to water-based paint technology, we can reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and cut emissions," says Markus Frentrop, Head of RAL Colors.

High savings in emissions

According to Frentrop, around six tons or 90% of VOC emissions can be saved in the production of an annual quantity of the RAL K7 color fan compared to the conventional production of color cards. This is the equivalent of around 36 tons of CO2.

Less yellowing, high brilliance

The water-based paint used is more UV-resistant and protects the colors better against yellowing than conventional nitro paints. The water-based RAL colors of the color filter also impress with their high brilliance.

Manufactured in Germany

All RAL color samples are manufactured in Germany in compliance with high testing and quality standards. To improve the international usability of the fan, each color shade is provided with coding and an English color name on the front. Additional language options are offered as separate pages in the fan.
