The MALS detector for (U)HPLC and SEC can be used to analyze macromolecules from 2 to 50 nm. A green laser ensures a 2.7-fold increase in sensitivity.

The LenS3 Multi-Angle Light Scattering (MALS) detector from Tosoh Bioscience enables the direct measurement of macromolecules with molecular radii below 10 nm (up to 2 nm Rg / 200 Da) for the first time. The detector demonstrates its strengths particularly in polymer and protein analysis. It combines the advantages of low-angle (LALS), high-angle (HALS) and right-angle light scattering (RALS).

High signal intensity

A high signal intensity is achieved by using a green laser and a flow cell with a particularly long light path. The design of the PEEK flow cell also reduces interfering scattered light and thus ensures clear peaks even with small polymers or low-concentration solutions.

Patented optics

Patented optics enable a new calculation method so that macromolecules can be analyzed without time-consuming concentration determination. This simplifies the direct measurement of molecular weight and molecular radius for synthetic polymers, polysaccharides, proteins and other biopolymers.
