At the European Coatings Show, which will be held in Nuremberg, Germany, March 28-30, 2023, UV equipment manufacturer IST Metz will present a wide range of products for curing coatings using UV light. Excimer technology is used in many industrial sectors and applications for matting, disinfecting, as well as cleaning and modifying surfaces. An excimer lamp refers to a source of ultraviolet light that has extremely high energy emission at a wavelength of 172 nm. The result of hardening with excimer lamps is extremely hard and matte surfaces that offer high scratch and abrasion resistance.
Highlight products from the IST Metz portfolio are the air-cooled UV units MBS-L and LEDcure VZ, as well as the UV analyzer. MBS-L is a powerful unit with a lamp length of 550 to 1,600 mm and a maximum lamp power of 200W/cm. The air-cooled LEDcure VZ was developed specifically for the requirements of the large-format printing industry and has an output of 16 W/cm, around 30% more than conventional LED systems. The UV Analyzer is an app-based measuring device. It allows users to independently check the curing quality of their UV units at any time.
