Grip anti-slip coating protects children

After several children had tripped, the wooden terrace of a kindergarten was to be coated. Thanks to the new anti-slip coating from GriP Safety Coatings AG, the terrace of the Worber kindergarten could now be made slip- and fall-proof.

A new wooden terrace for the Alpina kindergarten in Worb: Children and teachers were looking forward to it. But the Accoya wood turned out to be a dangerous slide in the rain, wet and cold. After a few harmless falls and one accident, it was clear that a sensible solution had to be found. Through the initiative of a kindergarten teacher, the building department of the municipal administration came across an anti-slip coating that is also suitable for wood in outdoor areas.

The experts from the Swiss company GriP Safety Coatings AG applied the SWISSGrip anti-slip coating to the wood. The wood surface was coated using a special spraying process. The transparent and weatherproof anti-slip coating GSAS with slip resistance class R11 was used. SWISSGrip can be used for both outdoor and indoor areas. The solvent-free material is environmentally friendly, transparent and complies with DIN EN 16165 (formerly DIN 51130). The anti-slip coating is TÜV-certified, UV-resistant and insensitive to disinfectants.
