Covestro and Kronos are working together on solutions for digital inkjet printing on textiles. Tests have now shown that Covestro's water-based INSQIN portfolio is compatible with the white pigment dispersion Kronos 9900 Digital White. No significant sedimentation was observed and all formulations showed good stability even after four weeks of testing at 50 degrees.
Covestro has also developed a new polyurethane dispersion, Impranil DL 1606, which targets the problem of sagging - a quality issue resulting from the relatively high quantities of ink required for transfer printing (DTF printing). The anti-sagging properties of the new binder make it particularly suitable for white pigment inks in inkjet printing.
