BIA has in-house test laboratory accredited

With the accreditation for the in-house testing laboratory b-lab, BIA can significantly expand its range of services. In addition to electroplating components, tests in the area of paint surfaces are also carried out here.

With the conversion and accreditation of its own testing laboratory at its Solingen headquarters, automotive supplier BIA is now also authorized to offer official and independent material and surface testing. The b-lab, which is accredited by the German Accreditation Body DAkkS, is now able to provide in-house approvals for pre-series components. This is because, according to the requirements of some automotive manufacturers, these may only be carried out by an accredited testing laboratory.

BIA is also significantly expanding its testing capacities. The company is thus taking account of the growing process requirements resulting from trivalent chromium plating, new surfaces in the area of painting and research projects on chromium(VI)-free electroplating and on the recovery of valuable materials.
