Antalis presents new generation of stretch films

Antalis is expanding its portfolio of in-house solutions. With its new own brand AXIO, the packaging specialist is launching a stretch film product line that requires less material.

The machine stretch films in the AXIO line are designed for semi-automatic and fully automatic pallet wrappers with pre-stretch systems. The range includes ultra-thin films in seven thicknesses from 8 micrometers, which can be stretched to up to 340% of their original length. This corresponds to a thickness of around 2 micrometers during the winding process, which significantly reduces the amount of material used. As the films have a high mechanical resistance, fewer roll changes are necessary and a higher packaging speed can be achieved.

Pre-stretched hand-stretch version

Antalis also offers AXIO film as a pre-stretched hand-stretch version for manual packaging processes. It is made from the same base material as the machine films and is available in thicknesses of 4, 5 and 6 micrometers and in widths of 390 and 430 mm. The pre-stretched film requires no additional stretching during packaging, which reduces the physical strain on the user. Double-reinforced edges ensure high tensile strength and stability even with irregularly shaped loads.

Reduced use of materials

With AXIO, Antalis is making a measurable contribution to the promotion of environmentally friendly packaging solutions. By significantly reducing the amount of material used - while maintaining the same protective effect - packaging consumption per pallet is reduced by up to 40%. This not only reduces the need for plastic raw material, but also the CO2 footprint and the costs associated with the plastic tax.
