The ZVO represents the interests of contract coaters from industry and trade, in-house coaters, raw material and process suppliers, system manufacturers, component manufacturers and service providers in German electroplating and surface technology. The current framework conditions are increasingly giving rise to needs among members that relate to political issues. For example, the focus is on European and German environmental and chemicals policy, the REACH regulation and the German government's energy policy. A political service provider supports the association in these areas at the Berlin and Brussels offices and through cooperation with other industry associations.
New position created
The ZVO has expanded its staff to focus on and further professionalize this increasingly relevant challenge. In the newly created position of Head of Policy, Lukas Hanstein is responsible for coordinating political issues and corresponding activities within the ZVO association committees. His tasks include evaluating policy and legislation, identifying and investigating new issues and social, economic and industrial trends.
Finding ideas, making contacts
He will also organize contacts and appointments with politicians from the working level and hold talks with political players himself. It will also support and coordinate political contacts and activities of the member companies. His tasks also include documentation and writing as well as preparing speeches and presentations. Hanstein reports to the ZVO Board and management. He has professional experience at UNITI Bundesverband Energie Mittelstand and at the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (MIT) in Berlin.
