On April 15 and 16, 2026, Plasmatreat GmbH in Steinhagen will host the 51st workshop of the Atmospheric Pressure Plasma User Group (ak-adp). The event is being organized in cooperation with Plasmatreat GmbH and the Competence Network for Industrial Plasma Surface Technology INPLAS e.V.
The workshop will focus on the increasing demands on the functionality and design of surfaces, coupled with growing requirements in terms of cost-effectiveness and sustainability. Atmospheric plasmas and plasma processes are considered an important component of modern surface technologies, for example for chemical-free cleaning and functionalization processes or for the deposition of thin layers.
Presentations on processes, systems, and applications
The presentations will focus on process understanding as the basis for effective technology use, plasma systems with specific application examples, and process control to ensure consistent product quality. In addition, applications with a focus on economic efficiency and sustainability will be presented, including in the areas of fiber-reinforced plastics, bio-based coatings, anti-reflective surfaces, multi-component injection molding, and the treatment of recycled surfaces.
Exchange between industry and science
A central element of the workshop is the ak-adp Talk. The focus will be on the current status of industrial applications of atmospheric pressure plasmas, possible implementation approaches, and industry requirements for research and development. Representatives from industry, science, and plant engineering will moderate the discussion.
In addition to the technical presentations, a factory tour at plasma equipment manufacturer Plasmatreat, an evening event, and a get-together in Bielefeld are planned. These formats are intended to support professional exchange and networking among participants. Further information, the complete program, and online registration are available on the user group's website. The early bird registration period ends on January 31, 2026.
