Smaller sheet metal parts, such as gussets and connecting sheets, also need to be blast cleaned to remove welding residues, rust and impurities, or to prepare for subsequent coating. For these applications, blast machine manufacturer AGTOS will exhibit a drum-type blast machine at this year's EUROBLECH trade show. One advantage of this type of machine is its compact design.
Even with small parts, there is no jamming or damage to the workpieces. The blasting process is automated and therefore requires less manpower. Based on data collected and collated during the production process, conclusions can be drawn about the service requirements of the machines. This will be illustrated by examples at the booth.
