Medellin in Colombia is now home to the tenth branch of the Münster-based family business Weicon. Other locations are in Dubai, Canada, Turkey, Romania, South Africa, Singapore, the Czech Republic, Spain and Italy. The newly founded Weicon Colombia S.A.S is managed by Colombian Daniel Mesa Saldarriaga. "We have been working successfully with Daniel for years," says Ralph Weidling, Managing Partner of Weicon. Mesa Saldarriaga was previously responsible for the distribution of Weicon products at a technical dealer in Colombia.

Colombia is an interesting market for Weicon, as the manufacturer's products can be used in mining, the maritime industry and metal construction. "And the economy is on a good growth trajectory. The country therefore offers a strong sales market for our products," says Ann-Katrin Weidling, co-partner of the Weicon Group.

Colombia's second largest city is home to companies in the textile industry, the food and tobacco industries, the manufacture of agricultural machinery, the metallurgical and chemical industries, cement production and the furniture industry.
