Aluminum is used in numerous industrial sectors - in the construction industry, aerospace technology, the automotive industry and mechanical engineering. However, it is only through the wide range of surface finishing options that the material reveals its full potential. Coating in particular plays a central role. The Verband für die Oberflächenveredelung von Aluminium e. V. (VOA) now provides its member companies with its "Coating" document package developed by experts. Companies can use this to document quality in production and at the same time leverage potential for improvement. The updated version of the document package can be downloaded by association members from the VOA website.
Consideration of the QUALICOAT quality mark
The document package includesthe plant-specific process instructions, the production control plan and the visualization of critical process characteristics for coating. In addition, the authors, the specialists of the "Process Documentation" project group, have also taken into account the requirements of the globally valid specifications of the international QUALICOAT quality mark and their implementation. With the control register and the overview of quality tests according to QUALICOAT, the work therefore contains additional tools.
"Anodization" document package in progress
The project group developed the material in 2021. In addition to the "Coating" document package, the experts from the VOA member companies also developed the "Anodization" document package four years ago. The VOA will update this as soon as the new specifications for the international QUALANOD quality mark appear, which the general licensor is currently revising.
