The Association for Electrochemical Coating (Vecco e.V.) has been recognized by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) as an accredited stakeholder. This allows it to play a greater role in regulatory decision-making processes in future.

Vecco e.V. has recently been registered as an accredited stakeholder with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). This recognition gives the association the opportunity to participate as an observer in meetings of the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) and the Socio-Economic Analysis Committee (SEAC). This new role gives Vecco e.V. direct access to European decision-making processes for the assessment and regulation of chemical substances. In view of the pending authorizations and the upcoming restrictions on certain substances, accreditation is an important step for the association.

Significance for the surface technology industry

As the representative body for the electrochemical coating industry in Germany, Vecco e.V. will be able to bring the perspective of its members into discussions on chemicals legislation at an early stage. The recognition by the ECHA is also an expression of the professional reputation that the association has built up in recent years through its involvement in various working groups and projects.
