According to the company, the project represents an important milestone in VAT Group's global expansion strategy and reaffirms the company's long-term commitment to Romania. The facility was developed and is managed by VGP, a pan-European owner, manager and developer of logistics and industrial real estate. The new 21,000 m² site includes production areas, modern offices, social facilities, a canteen and a gym. The campus also has parking spaces and green areas.
The new plant at VGP Park Arad benefits from its location close to the A1 highway and major European transport routes. In terms of sustainability, the facility was built to BREEAM certification level "outstanding".
Around 50 of VAT Romania's 380 employees currently work at the new site, with plans for all employees to move by the end of 2025. In addition to actual production, the building will also house and expand technical, IT and supply chain functions. The investment in VAT Romania's growth is expected to create numerous highly skilled jobs, such as mechanical engineering, automation, CNC turning and milling, as well as in support functions. This expansion will also help to build capabilities beyond pure manufacturing and position the site as a leading factory within the group. As part of its growth strategy, VAT aims to double the number of production employees in Romania over the next three years.
