Thyracont Vacuum Instruments GmbH, Passau, is equipping its digital vacuum transmitters from the Smartline series with a modernized Ethercat module. Thanks to the full support of the Thyracont V2 communication protocol, additional diagnostic and maintenance functions are now available - including the readout of wear parameters. Firmware updates can also be imported directly via the Ethercat interface - without removing the device or using external programming devices.
Despite the technical upgrade, Thyracont says it has reduced the price of the devices. The digital transmitters in the Smartline series enable measurements from the low to the high vacuum range. They have an RS485 interface as standard as well as an optional 0-10 V output, a Profinet or the modernized Ethercat interface.
