The goal of the facility is to facilitate access to professional testing technology and to support the development of new applications. Busch Austria is participating in the initiative with a vacuum system that enables the creation of high-vacuum conditions. This allows components and assemblies to be tested during the development phase under conditions that, in terms of ambient pressure, closely resemble those in space.
The Busch system consists of a vacuum chamber, a Hipace series turbomolecular vacuum pump, a Hiscroll series scroll pump, and measurement and control technology. Among other things, electronic units, materials, components, and assemblies can be tested in the vacuum chamber. The tests are designed to evaluate the behavior of the test objects at low ambient pressure and to identify potential problems early in the development process.
The system was designed with ease of use in mind. Users place their test specimens in the chamber and start the evacuation process. The vacuum conditions are then generated using the pumps and the measurement and control technology.
