Processes that use UV masking material include acid cleaning, sandblasting or shot peening. Component surfaces or internal cavities must be isolated from these processes for functionality. Masking materials are applied as temporary coatings that are removed from the finished part after processing.
Panacol's UV masking material is derived from light-curing adhesive technology. Panacol's UV light-curing masking adhesives are solvent-free, easy to apply and cure within seconds using a UV light source. Both broad-spectrum UV or LED light with wavelengths of 365 or 405 nm can be used for curing. The uncured liquid masking can be applied to components by spraying, dipping or spraying. The maskings are available in many viscosities.
