Umicore presents the Arguna C-100 electrolyte for coating connectors in high-current applications. Even after more than 50,000 mating cycles, an intact silver graphite layer is detectable - and cross-compatibility with other mating contact materials.

The silver-graphite dispersion electrolyte is suitable for coating connector contacts in high-current applications - for example in high-power charging / HPC. The silver dispersion layers deposited with the electrolyte (Arguna C-100) are stable even at elevated temperatures and enable maximum charging performance over the entire service life of the charging connectors. Arguna C-100 thus meets the increased requirements of the industry in terms of reliability and durability for connector contacts.

Coatings with fine silver are state of the art in terms of electrical and thermal conductivity. However, frequent mating leads to rapid wear of the silver coatings. Arguna C-100 achieves exceptional abrasion resistance through embedded graphite particles in the silver layer and thus the high reliability and longevity of the contact coating and the charging connector desired by the industry.
