Together against bureaucratic madness

Industry and trade in Germany have been groaning under increasing bureaucratic pressure for years. A clear sign that the worst is over: the Ulm Chamber of Industry and Commerce has called on companies to hold a rally: "Action by companies - we are drowning in formalism. Reduce bureaucracy now!"

Will decisive public pressure be built up from now on in the fight against the bureaucratic burden that has become unreasonable? Calls for public demonstrations are at least a clear indication that a point has been reached at which German companies feel compelled to go on the offensive. Germany's competitiveness as a business location is currently under greater threat than it has been for a long time, and bureaucracy and administrative burdens are a key factor in this.

"An IHK does not typically take to the streets with a campaign," says IHK President Jan Stefan Roell. "We believe now is the time to take such action to increase political pressure." The Ulm Chamber of Skilled Crafts is also supporting the planned demonstration against excessive bureaucracy. The action will take place on November 7 from 4 pm. The meeting point is the Sedelhöfe. The route leads via Olgastraße and Hafenbad to Münsterplatz. The final rally will take place there. It would be desirable for this example to set a precedent. Because only those who make politicians and authorities aware of the problems and needs in public can achieve something. Otherwise the bureaucratic swamp will continue to grow unchecked.
