As electrification and vehicle automation progress, displays are becoming increasingly important as interfaces between vehicles and users. The collaboration combines Surventis’ development expertise in microstructured optical films with Aumovio’s capabilities in vehicle integration and manufacturing.
Microstructures for light management and display functions
Surventis develops optical functional films based on materials science, optics and nanoimprint technology. Roll-to-roll nanoimprinting enables optical micro- and nanostructures to be reproduced over large areas. The films can be used to control light distribution, improve display readability and enable additional functions in display and projection systems.
“Microstructured optical films open up new possibilities for light management in automotive displays and head-up displays,” says Frank Naber, Executive Vice President Surface Treatment at Surventis. The collaboration is intended to support more efficient integration of these solutions into future vehicle platforms.
Industrialisation for future vehicle platforms
Aumovio contributes its expertise in displays, head-up display systems and system integration. Defined development and industrialisation steps are intended to support the transfer of the film technology into scalable automotive applications.
For vehicle manufacturers, microstructured films can provide additional design options for user interfaces and optical systems. At the same time, the collaboration focuses on manufacturing processes suitable for higher-volume production.
