With the Sikkens Visualizer App, Sikkens offers painters and paint retailers a digital tool for color consulting. The app, which AkzoNobel developed together with its technology partner MindTree, has now won the ISG Digital Case Study Award. This prize is awarded annually by ISG, a technology research and consulting company. Out of nearly 250 submissions, 39 digital solutions were selected for this year's award. The Visualizer App received the award in the Digital Ecosystem category.
The Sikkens Visualizer App creates a true-to-life spatial illusion. Using augmented reality, the Visualizer allows customers, painters and retailers to visualize walls in different colors and shades in real time without applying a single drop of paint. In doing so, the app can detect the difference between wall surfaces, furniture and fixtures and paint around them as you move through the space with your smartphone or tablet. The app also assists with color selection.
