In 2014, the wooden components of the Eisensteiner Hut on the Großer Arber were coated with the solvent-reduced high-solids glaze Cetol Novatech. The UV resistance of the glaze has a positive effect on the service life of the wood - even in intensive weathering at an altitude of 1,380 meters. In addition, the glaze offers high penetration capacity and optimum moisture control, as well as good and economical processing.
For the coating of the wooden components of the Arberseehaus, which was built in 2017, the choice fell on the thin-layer glaze Cetol BLX-Pro and the thick-layer glaze Cetol BLX-Pro Top, which offer maximum weather protection, also for environmental reasons. A special "Stay Clean additive" allows dirt and liquids to virtually roll off the surface. The surface has hardly lost any gloss so far and shows virtually no cracking after many years of weathering.
