Centriair's exhaust air treatment systems work with UV light, which is particularly energy-rich due to its short wavelengths. If the absorption maximum of a pollutant and the emission maximum of the UV light coincide, a chain reaction begins that breaks down odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). During this photolysis, the resulting ozone decays to radicals, further enhancing the process. The water contained in the humidity is also homolyzed and split into OH radicals, which also participate in the oxidation reaction with the pollutant.
In addition to a high efficiency of up to 99.9 percent, Centriair's systems have other advantages over other conventional exhaust air purification systems. For example, they are insensitive to fluctuations or peaks in emissions. The fact that they do not use gas makes them climate-friendly and, unlike combustion systems, CO2-neutral. The space requirement is low thanks to their lightweight and compact design. At the same time, the systems offer high operational stability, operational reliability and system availability.
