Matt lacquered surfaces often soon show unsightly signs of wear in everyday life, such as fingerprints on drawers or shiny spots on door handles. Although the excimer process enables greater resistance for matt surfaces, it is associated with high investments in the corresponding equipment. With Adler NXT, the NXT technology from Austrian lacquer manufacturer Adler now offers a furniture lacquer that provides a matt look that is resistant and does not require an excimer process.
Special microstructure achieved
The matting of a lacquer film is usually achieved through the use of matting agents. These form a micro-rough structure that diffusely reflects light. However, matting agents are very sensitive. Even contact with a fingernail is enough to smooth out the rough structure, causing the surface to shine. With Adler NXT, it has been possible to give the lacquer a soft, rounded microstructure that looks deeply matt and is insensitive at the same time.
Two variants on offer
Adler offers two of its water-based furniture lacquers with this NXT finish. The 2K UV lacquer Pigmolux HQ NXT scores with very good processing properties and an extremely resistant surface. The 4in1 coating Bluefin Pigmores NXT offers chemical and mechanical resistance in numerous color shades. This 2-component paint is low-emission and ideal for use on primer films or filled surfaces.
