Low-E glass for windows and facade elements has a coated side with a very low emissivity. The low emissivity poses a major challenge for infrared measurement devices, which traditionally measure glass temperature from above as the panes are moved out of the furnace during the glass curing process. Optris' new bottom up glass inspection system consists of two infrared cameras below the tempering line. These measure the temperature on the non-coated side of the glass with high emissivity (1,600 pixel scan line resolution and max. field of view of 111° / 4.3 m scan width).
Optris delivers the Bottom Up Glass inspection system already pre-assembled. The installation is possible in a very small space and an exact mechanical positioning of the system, which was previously done with old, bulky line scanners, is no longer necessary. With the Optris solution, the exact alignment of the scan line can be conveniently performed in the supplied software.
