PPG plans to invest 300 million dollars in advanced manufacturing in North America to meet the growing demand for automotive paints and coatings. The investment is to be spread over four years.

A key component of PPG's planned investment is the construction of a new 2.3-acre plant in Loudon County, Tennessee. This facility, PPG's first new plant in the U.S. in over 15 years, will produce over eleven million gallons (approximately 400,000 hectoliters) of paint annually and employ approximately 130 full-time employees. Construction will begin in August 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2026.

In addition to the new plant, PPG will add new equipment to its existing facilities in Cleveland, Ohio, and San Juan Del Rio, Mexico, to improve efficiency and expand production capacity, particularly for sustainable solutions such as water-based coatings.

PPG Chairman and CEO Tim Knavish emphasized the company's commitment to innovation and quality. The strategic location of the new plant will improve supply chain efficiency and customer service in the automotive sector.
