At Fakuma, Plasmatreat will showcase solutions for cleaning, activating, and applying functional coatings to plastic surfaces. The focus will be on Openair plasma for inline processes and the new Aurora plasma system for complex 3D components in a low-pressure environment.

At Fakuma, in Hall A1, Booth 1320, Plasmatreat will showcase atmospheric-pressure and low-pressure plasma solutions for the plastics industry. The company will showcase applications for cleaning, activating, and functionally coating surfaces, all aimed at achieving more efficient and reliable plastics processing.

The focus is on Openair plasma technology for inline production. The process is used to specifically pretreat surfaces prior to subsequent process steps. In plastics processing, this includes, among other things, applications where adhesion properties for bonding, printing, painting, or sealing need to be improved. Atmospheric plasma treatment can be integrated directly into running production lines.

Focus on In-Line and Low-Pressure Processes

In addition, Plasmatreat is showcasing the new Aurora plasma system for complex 3D components that are treated at low pressure. Such systems are primarily used where component geometries, sensitive materials, or defined process conditions require treatment in a closed process environment. The company thus covers both continuous inline applications and discontinuous low-pressure processes for more demanding components.

The trade show presentation is aimed at processors in the plastics industry who wish to adapt their surface treatment to downstream joining, coating, or printing processes. In this context, plasma processes are used to remove organic contaminants, increase surface energy, and specifically tailor functional properties. Especially with plastics, pretreatment is often a crucial step for stable and reproducible processes.

Fakuma as a Platform for Technical Discussions

Plasmatreat announces that it will host technical discussions at its booth on applications of atmospheric and low-pressure plasma technology. In doing so, the company is not only highlighting individual systems but also addressing the question of how plasma surface treatment can be integrated into existing plastics processing production environments.

Corinna Hokamp, Public Relations at Plasmatreat, describes the goal of the trade show participation as follows: The company will demonstrate “how modern plasma surface treatment makes plastics processing more efficient and ensures greater process reliability.”
