WMV has been represented in the USA since 1999. The Pontiac site in Detroit, Michigan, is now being expanded. The company wants to strengthen its market presence in the USA in the surface treatment and automation sectors. In addition, proximity to customers and partners is to be intensified and WMV solutions brought to market more quickly.
Takeover of manufacturer of electroplating systems
"We have been pursuing this vision for a very long time," says CEO Martin Müller. The company acquired the American company UAS back in 2023. The expertise it acquired enabled it to set up its own production facility for complete electroplating systems in the USA. "Now is the right time to increase our vertical integration and systematically expand our range of services," says Müller.
Expansion of component production
With the new General Manager Matt Ulewicz, the expansion of the production of system components for surface treatment and the spare parts warehouse on site began on August 25, 2025. This will allow new systems to be introduced to the US market more quickly and cost-effectively, while existing systems can be maintained and spare parts can be provided promptly.
