MKS Atotech offers sustainable, Cr(VI)-free and non-PFAS-based coating solutions for decorative and functional applications. These include environmentally friendly trivalent chromium processes and the chromium-free Covertron 600 plastic metallization process, which replaces hexavalent chromium in pre-treatment.
Significantly lower energy consumption
The TriChrome processes for decorative applications cover the entire range of modern chrome shades - from a bluish light surface that resembles hexavalent chrome to medium-dark to dark shades. The latest generation of two-component cleaning solutions, which work at extremely low temperatures and thus significantly reduce energy consumption, will also be presented.
Topcoats without the use of PFAS
In response to the growing concern about PFAS, the company offers non-PFAS-based zinc flake basecoats and topcoats. Sustainable non-PFAS-based solutions include the black basecoat Zintek 300 HP and the two-coat premium silver basecoat Zintek 200.
