Additive manufacturing is also increasingly being used in series production. This gives rise to completely new products in both prototype construction and small series production, which are characterized by specific properties and new possibilities. Lightweight structures and metal printing are just a few examples. The requirements for technical cleanliness are high, because the challenges for cleanliness are different from those for conventional materials.
Cross-contamination, manufacturing residues from the AM process such as powder or support structures must be reliably removed. This requires a precise knowledge of the geometries and suitable cleaning processes. Voer factors are crucial for a suitable cleaning process - these factors should be weighed against each other before determining when the cleaning process is complete.
