Chicago Pneumatic rounds out its line of air grinders with two new angle grinders for roughing and cutting and two polishers. The CP3750 series machines are suitable for metalworking with 180-mm grinding wheels. The manufacturer is targeting the machines at users who want to increase productivity on a limited budget and also value ergonomics and safety. A rotating air inlet facilitates handling, and the compact angular head offers the best view of the component for every grinding task. The new grinders are designed for long running times: The maintenance interval of the robust gearbox is 1000 operating hours.
The 1640-watt CP3750 series units can be used to machine materials such as gray cast iron, steel and stainless steel, aluminum, composite materials, and alloys with magnesium or titanium. The air motor is designed to be particularly efficient: The vanes do not sit concentrically in the rotor, but are offset from each other. This design gives them more clearance and enlarges the air chamber, resulting in better efficiency with higher power and torque for the same motor size. Conversely, more compact machines can be designed with the same power.
