With the oil-injected screw compressor with a large housing, Boge is expanding the S-4 series to include the 90 kW power range. The latest S 91-4 model produces a high delivery rate with lower specific power consumption. The efficiency advantages are rooted in the design concept. Internal pressure losses are reduced by generously dimensioned components. In addition, Boge achieves high efficiencies with the compressor stage developed in-house.
The robust compressor stage is hermetically encapsulated and, thanks to the direct drive, has advantages over conventional belt drives, which wear out more quickly. "Usually, V-belts have to be changed two or three times a year," says Frank Hilbrink, Boge product manager. "Of course, this involves a certain cost - a disadvantage compared to our direct-drive system." In combination with the frequency converter, the speed of the new Boge compressor can be varied and ideally adapted to the respective compressed air requirement.
