A tank container must transport gases, oils, milk and other liquids for decades. Lamilux X-treme maximizes the service life of the entire container. It is a fiber-reinforced composite material with the maximum possible content of reinforcing fibers in a highly elastic epoxy resin matrix. Compared to steel or aluminum, the material has three to four times the tensile strength at up to 50 percent less weight. The impact-resistant material lowers maintenance and repair costs and thus reduces container downtime.
When used over large areas in a wide range of applications, Lamilux X-treme and Lamilux X-treme Carbon absorb the load and tension forces acting on the sandwich elements. This makes the entire structure very torsionally stiff. The low thermal expansion of the composite material also makes it possible to realize large components - without warping and blistering in the long term. In addition, the low thermal conductivity of the products and thus the optimized insulation of the cooling structure is a powerful argument for refrigerated transport containers.
