The Paintscan Compact Sesor detects and classifies defects inline and at production speed on final painted and cathodic dip coated surfaces, such as injection molded parts or exterior and interior parts in the automotive sector, even on closely stacked parts such as bumpers and cover panels. The system's high-performance multi-mode LED line achieves defect detection of >= 0.15 mm and a typical detection rate for topographic and non-topographic defects of over 98.5%.
All relevant defects such as inclusions, craters, pigment defects and scratches are inspected multiple times without gaps by the sensor using an oversampling method and classified multi-dimensionally. Data is processed in the process cycle and defect information is immediately available for continuous optimization of the production process. Expensive manual rework to repair defects is drastically reduced while product quality is increased and consistently assured. Retrofitting in existing lines is easy to implement.
