Measuring inserts with protective fittings are ready-to-install and DIN-compliant system components for industrial temperature monitoring. Hotset now offers them in numerous variants for all thermocouples and resistance thermometers in its portfolio. As a functional unit consisting of sensor, measuring insert, thermowell, connection element and process connection, they cover a wide range of production, process, fluid and energy technology applications.
Temperature monitoring in metal processing and chemicals
Within the Temperature Solutions division, Hotset is expanding its hotcontrol umbrella brand to include a broad portfolio of built-in components. A selection of solutions is available for the precise temperature monitoring of liquid, gaseous and pasty media. In addition to the protective fittings of types 2G and 2GoH in accordance with DIN 43772, numerous other ready-to-install versions are now also available. They can be fitted with various connection heads and measuring inserts (DIN 43735) with all thermocouples and resistance thermometers from Hotset. Their most important areas of application include mechanical and plant engineering, industrial furnace construction, the steel and iron industry, light and non-ferrous metal processing, power plant technology and automotive engineering. The chemical and petrochemical industries, the building materials industry and plastics technology are also among the users of these metrological components.
First-hand quality
The basic versions of the new protection fittings and measuring inserts from hotset are designed for measuring temperatures of up to 1,100° C close to the process. The new hotcontrol protective fittings are available in all types in accordance with DIN 43722. This means that in addition to the 2G (with neck tube) and 2GoH (without neck tube) types, other designs are also available.
Safe signal path to the control system
The connection heads of the hotcontrol protective fittings are made of die-cast aluminum and are available in different versions. They protect the base underneath with the system connections. The base has spring-loaded fixing screws to ensure a secure connection between the tip of the measuring insert and the base of the thermowell, even if the thermowell and measuring insert have different thermal expansions. They allow the measuring insert to be mounted flexibly.
