The Indian tool manufacturer Ind-Sphinx/Axis relies on coating technology from CemeCon. The company has now invested in another CC800 HiPIMS.

For over 35 years, Ind-Sphinx/Axis has stood for quality, precision and durability. In Parwanoo at the foot of the Himalayas, the Indian company develops and manufactures high-precision tools for a wide range of applications. "CemeCon HiPIMS coatings have been key to our business success in tools for the manufacture of metal housings and parts for cell phones, micromachining and the machining of composite materials in the aerospace industry," says Director and CEO Ronuk Taneja.

His company already uses several systems from CemeCon. To expand its capacities, it has now invested in a second CC800 HiPIMS. This enables ultra-thin coatings of around 1 µm, which neither affect the cutting edges of the precision tools used nor round them off unintentionally. The homogeneous coating growth on the cutting edge - even with complex tool geometries - also ensures a uniform coating thickness distribution within very tight tolerances.
