DAREX WBC 711 is designed for non-round lids of tinplate and aluminum cans that are sealed with a spray head or nozzle. Compared to the sealant DAREX OP 2928, it offers a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of more than 30 percent, without taking into account the use phase and end-of-life emissions. This calculation is based on the Henkel Cradle-to-Gate Product Carbon Footprint assessment according to ISO 14067.
To seal cans with rectangular or oval lids, Henkel compounds DAREX OP 2928 were previously available. To avoid webbing and the formation of angel hair, additives had to be added in the past. The new development DAREX WBC 711 does not require any additives, so that sealing can be achieved at lower application costs. In addition, the sealant can be applied more cleanly, resulting in less spoilage and sealant waste. The sealant can be used for hot and cold filling, for double-seam sealing with or without steam injection and for subsequent pasteurization or sterilization.
