In 2021, Grundfos set a new sales record with net sales of 3.8 billion euros. The return on sales for the full year was 11.1%, corresponding to earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of €428 million.

Grundfos' return on sales, adjusted for items not related to the company's operating business, was 11.4%. In the second half of 2021, Grundfos faced increasing supply chain bottlenecks and strong price increases for raw materials, energy and logistics services, which put additional pressure on profitability.

"Our record results give us a solid foundation for the challenges ahead in 2022. The invasion of Ukraine is first and foremost a tragedy for the Ukrainian people. However, the global impact is immediate and far-reaching and has led us to put all business activities in Russia on hold. In addition, inflationary pressures and supply chain bottlenecks have intensified, making the outlook for 2022 very uncertain," said Poul Due Jensen, group president of Grundfos. However, the company will do its utmost to manage the uncertainties, he added.
