Custom manufacturing - when it comes to designing their own home, builders are not satisfied with standard designs. They want wooden stairs to match the interior. In terms of color, the stair treads have to be matched to the floors. For the carpenter, this means extra work. So too for ETS Treppenbau und Schreinerei and its 26 employees. Until now, a lot of manual work was necessary to manufacture stairs to measure and to customer specifications. In times of a shortage of skilled workers, however, it became increasingly difficult for the family business to find the necessary labor. In order to be able to apply the colored stains and water-based UV coatings automatically and still individually in the future, the family invested in a spray painting system from Venjakob, including dust extraction and drying.
The new Venjakob system allows fast color changes and has short drying times. It was built in a U-shape with a rake angle transfer for moving the workpieces. It is designed for workpieces from 300 x 100 x 10 millimeters up to a maximum of 5300 x 1300 x 100 millimeters. The new coating line from Venjakob can be used for coating, pickling and drying. The entire coating line - from the spraying machine with three coating supply lines to the UV drying channel - is designed to use the desired water-based UV coatings and water-based stain, while complying one hundred percent with EU environmental directives. The plant now operates much more efficiently and can coat twice as many stair treads in the same time as before.
